The recent double overtime game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors was a thriller to remember.
The visiting Lakers secured a thrilling 145-144 victory inside of the Chase Center in San Francisco, the home of the Warriors.
The game saw LeBron James leading the way with a triple-double for the Lakers, scoring 36 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, and dishing out 12 assists.
Anthony Davis contributed 29 points and 13 rebounds, while D’Angelo Russell scored 28 points for Los Angeles.
On the Warriors’ side, Stephen Curry had a remarkable performance, tallying a season-high 46 points and nine three-pointers for the Warriors.
The game was special due to the history of the competitors, as James and Curry met four straight times in the NBA Finals between 2015 and 2018 when Lebron was on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Warriors won three of those series.
The Lakers and Warriors also met last postseason, with Los Angeles winning four games to two to advance to the Westernce Conference Finals.
So too did Saturday night’s game have a playoff vibe, with clutch performances from several players.
The Warriors’ Klay Thompson hit a three-pointer with 5.9 seconds left in the first overtime to extend the game.
Ultimately, trailing by one point with time taking down, James drove to the basket and drew a foul with 1.2 seconds left. He hit both free throws to secure the victory.
The game highlighted this generation’s two finest players at their best.
The Lakers moved to 24-23, ninth in the West, while the Warriors fall to 19-24, 12th in the conference.
